The photo for this week’s prompt was taken at the ruins of Kilpeck Castle in Herefordshire. We had gone to Kilpeck to visit its famous Norman church with its spectacular carvings around the door, the west window… and the amazing corbels.
What we had not expected was the quiet serenity of the interior, or its wonderful apse over the place where underground streams are said to meet. Nor had we expected the land to wear so many memories of ancient settlements… or a moated Norman Castle on the very doorstep of the church.
